Careers
Exoplan is an energy-aware calendar for iPhone. We’re growing the team and hiring for five roles. All of them are remote and full-time.
How we work
- You’ll work directly with Paul Never, our founder and designer, and Mike Lvoff, our founding engineer.
- Everyone talks to users, and everyone ships.
- AI tools are part of every role here. We expect you to use them well, and to know when not to.
Product Engineer, iOS
Own features in the iPhone app from the first sketch with Paul to the release, and decide with us what to build next.
What you’ll do
- Build across the calendar, tasks, widgets and the Magic Planner in Swift and SwiftUI.
- Work with HealthKit, EventKit and Google Calendar, and keep sync fast and correct.
- Talk to users and read the analytics before deciding what to build.
- Set up the tests and release tooling that let a small team ship every week.
You might be a fit if
- You’ve shipped iOS apps that people pay for.
- You care how the product feels as much as how the code reads.
- You use AI coding tools every day and know where they go wrong.
AI Engineer
Make the Magic Planner the best way to plan a day.
What you’ll do
- Own the planner: its prompts, its tool calls, and the calendar and energy context it reads.
- Build evaluations so every change is measured before it ships.
- Bring cost and latency down, and move what you can onto the iPhone with Apple’s on-device models.
- Improve voice input and what the planner remembers about each person.
You might be a fit if
- You’ve shipped LLM features that real people use every day.
- You treat evals, latency and cost as part of the job.
- You write TypeScript or Swift, ideally both.
Growth Lead
Be the first person whose whole job is getting Exoplan to the people who need it.
What you’ll do
- Own acquisition: the App Store page, paid social, creators and partnerships.
- Run the lifecycle with the product engineers: onboarding, trial to paid, and win-back.
- Set up the experiments and the few metrics we steer by.
- Make and test creative at volume, with AI tools where they help.
You might be a fit if
- You’ve grown a consumer subscription app, ideally on iOS.
- You’re as comfortable with the numbers as with the words.
- You’d rather run ten small tests than plan one big launch.
Design Engineer
Turn Paul’s designs into the real thing, and prototype what comes next.
What you’ll do
- Prototype interactions and motion in SwiftUI, fast enough to test an idea in days.
- Build and look after the design system in code: type, color, components and motion.
- Polish the details that make the app feel calm: transitions, haptics and empty states.
- Work with Paul on the website and the App Store visuals.
You might be a fit if
- You design and you code, and your portfolio shows both.
- You’ve built in SwiftUI, or you’re strong in another UI stack and keen to learn it.
- You notice when an animation is 50 ms too slow.
Health Data Scientist
Make Exoplan’s energy estimates more accurate, and show how accurate they are.
What you’ll do
- Improve the energy model, built on heart rate, activity and sleep from Apple Health.
- Design studies that compare our estimates with how people say they feel.
- Help move the model onto the iPhone, so less data leaves the device.
- Keep our health claims honest, each one backed by research.
You might be a fit if
- You’ve worked with wearable or physiological data: heart rate, sleep or activity.
- You know the research on sleep and circadian rhythms, or you learn it fast.
- You explain results plainly, including what the data can’t show.
